I know, snakes in the house aren’t typically a good idea, but I’m loving this slithery collection by Sarah B. Martinez. The watercolor snake art prints as a series or alone would add a playful pop of color to any room in the home. Not to mention great conversation pieces!

I was drawn to this chic dining room vignette with custom buffet with patterned nailhead, porcupine quill mirror and layered accessories while surfing for inspiration on Houzz the other day. San Francisco Bay Area designer, Laura Martin Bovard created the sleek modern look and added a fresh twist. It’s not minimalist like so many modern designs, yet has a wonderful layered, youthful and inviting feel. I think that’s why I like it so much. With the world watching and amazingly just one day after the birth, Prince William and Duchess Kate emerged yesterday from the hospital to introduce their son, the tiny Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge (name announced today!). From the beginning, the couple has pushed royal traditions and now want to raise their son on their terms. So, don’t you think it’s fitting that the baby, who’s third in line to the throne should have a nursery that communicates this modern monarchy? I do, so I pulled some nursery items with modern flair, perfect for the new prince.

I’m completely obsessed with this wallpaper. It’s Brit Pop from the Kandy Collection by Elitis. You may recall seeing it featured in this year’s San Francisco Decorator’s Showcase. I always thought it would be delightful in a little girl’s bedroom and so did interior designer, Jennifer Visosky of Grace Home Design. The colorful, dreamy wallpaper was the launching point for Jennifer’s design.
A contemporary trundle bed in white is paired with Land of Nod’s Animáles Grafico comforter in yellow and topped with pink throw pillows. The pattern play here is wonderful!
I also love this custom built storage unit. I’m not sure if the large silver panel is covered in wallpaper or was painted. In either case I love it!
