I often talk about using baskets for stylish storage options, but baskets are terrific too for decorative accents throughout the home. I’ve spotted a few favorite images features woven beauties in a variety of spaces including the dining room. kitchen and a babies’ nursery. Our spring has been cooler than usual and is taking its own sweet time to arrive. It has me longing for the long warm days of summer and I think that’s why I’m so drawn to the beautiful South Carolina beach house designed by Cortney Bishop. The interior’s simple white backdrop is paired with pops of contrasting blacks and grays. Warmer wood accents are featured in furnishings, cabinetry and ceiling details. And of course, I’m a huge fan of the large windows and all that natural light. The views of the Atlantic Ocean must me amazing. Take a a little beach house tour . . .
The kiddo’s spaces shown below are perhaps my favorite. The bunk room is so chic and functional. I love how it leads to a game room. The black triple faucet sink is the best too.

Hello Monday! The start of a new week can be both refreshing and overwhelming. This week I’m planning a couple bathroom renovations, our backyard in being landscaped and the kiddos are busy with summer activities. Although it will be a busy week, I’m thankful for a break from a heat wave we’ve been experiencing.
To start the week off on an inspiring note, I’m sharing a few of my favorite pins on Pinterest as of late. As you’ll see, recently I’ve been pulled to lots of soothing neutrals and pale shades of pink.

What happens when a renowned architect and an A-list interior designer collaborate to build their dream home? The magical result is chronicled in a must have new decor book, A House in the Country which invites us in the one-of-a-kind Greek Revival-inspired house of Peter Pennoyer (architect) and Katie Ridder (designer). The creative power couple spent years searching for just the right property and in 2009 found a ranch house on six-and-a-half acres in Millbrook, New York. With more than 300 photos and illustrations, Peter and Katie invite us into their home and share the story behind the transformation. The book is simply organized into three sections – Exterior, Interior and Garden. It’s evident from just the first few page turns, that the home’s architecture and interior design are totally in sync. Don’t let the exterior traditional architecture fool you either – the home’s interior is colorful and full of modern touches. Katie’s bold use of color including pink and purple – beautifully connects and defines the spaces in Peter’s open-floor plan. In addition, the home’s garden is sensational and I love how the book dives into the smallest details including plant selection.
