Summer’s heat is here and it’s be relentless. In addition, we are getting smoke from forest fires all over California. The heat and haze has me longing for cooler, clearer days. I’ve pulled a few Pinterest favorites featuring crisp whites and cool greens. A palette I adore.
Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day? It’s okay, I do too. However, decorating for Valentine’s Day unlike Christmas or even Halloween, is more subtle. I keep it simple and don’t overdo it.
Today I’ve teamed up with the super creative folks at Minted to create a festive, yet fresh tablescape for cupid’s favorite holiday. As you’ll see – it’s not all about hearts & arrows – I’ve mixed in some none traditional prints such as the partridge table runner and modern stitch napkins to the mix – these patterns could be used year around which is a win-win. I also included red roses for a traditional touch and a double fudge chocolate cake for something sweet – a Valentine must! The bay window was the perfect place for garland & bunting to deliver a special “love you” message to family and friends.
Now… can we just talk about how darn cute the Minted classroom Valentines for kids are?
My kids selected “You’re a llama fun!” and “I like the way you roll” Valentines for their friends. So cute and I love that they are personalized. Here are a few more Valentine favorites for the kiddos from Minted:

As you can image, we are very excited to be hosting Thanksgiving in our new kitchen! So recently I’ve been combing blogs and Pinterest for Thanksgiving decor inspiration and recipes. Here are some of my favorites…

Yesterday it snowed for the first time this season. It was quite magical! As the snow fell, I found myself thinking of Thanksgiving and daydreaming up a little tabletop idea. I’m loving the simplicity of a black & white palette, with fresh modern accents. It’s not fussy, but an elegant, classic look. Don’t you think?
