Girl Bedroom Ideas :: Kerry Hanson Design

Inviting, crisp and new-traditional is how I would describe Kerry Hanson’s work. Based out of New Canaan, Connecticut the interior design has a wonderful way with color, mixing patterns (some amazing fabrics used throughout!) and blending period styles (love her chinoiserie touches here and there). I especially enjoy the beautiful spaces she designed for little girls. All have timeless looks that can transition into the teenage years. All incorporate gorgeous textiles. And all are sweet, yet still sophisticated. Here are a few of my favorites from Kerry’s portfolio to inspire and give you lots of girl bedroom ideas…

Tom Scheerer Decorates – The Book

From Manhattan apartments to Bahamian seaside cottages, the book showcases Scheerer’s exquisite, confident and always perfectly balanced creations. They all contain a seamless blend of classical design elements with crisp, modern touches. All are inviting, livable and feel natural. Scheerer makes decorating look effortless, which we all know is far from the truth. Many of the images featured in the book have already caused a pinning frenzy and you’ll see why.

Colorful Girl’s Bedroom :: Grace Home Design

I’m completely obsessed with this wallpaper. It’s Brit Pop from the Kandy Collection by Elitis. You may recall seeing it featured in this year’s San Francisco Decorator’s Showcase. I always thought it would be delightful in a little girl’s bedroom and so did interior designer, Jennifer Visosky of Grace Home Design. The colorful, dreamy wallpaper was the launching point for Jennifer’s design.

A contemporary trundle bed in white is paired with Land of Nod’s Animáles Grafico comforter in yellow and topped with pink throw pillows. The pattern play here is wonderful!
