Splurge or Sweden?

Need a good laugh? You’ll want to take a look at SPACES’ {YouTube’s new home & garden channel) Splurge or Steal video. Host, Erika Storm Wasser asks everyday folks if they can tell which piece is the splurge and which is an Ikea steal.

And the gorilla was not staged… seriously, he was just hanging in the park. Hilarious, don’t you think?

Also, I’m curious. Are you subscribing to channels on YouTube?

My Hexagon Terrarium

I’ve been a little obsessed with two things lately – hexagons and terrariums. So when I found this vintage hexagon glass container at a local consignment shop, I knew it was meant for me!

Friday Find :: Exquisite Hand Painted Textiles

You know I’m a little obsessed with textiles and especially ones that are hand painted and environmentally friendly. So when I cam across the beautifully artistic and unique textiles by Eskayel, I knew they needed to be a ‘Friday Find’. Based in Brooklyn, NY Eskayel’s made to order fabrics (yes, custom colorways can be accommodated) and wallcoverings are created in the northeastern United States on natural and recycled grounds.

Giveaway :: Good Bones, Great Pieces Book

good bones great pieces book review
Selecting furniture pieces that you will love for decades can be overwhelming. However, the mother-daughter designing duo, Suzanne and Lauren McGrath are making the selection process much easier in their book, Good Bones, Great Pieces. By focusing on seven essential, timeless pieces  – the love seat, demilune, bench, dresser, slipper chair, side table and occasional chair –  the McGraths have created a resourceful book that everyone including seasoned decorators will want in their collection.
For the McGraths decorating isn’t about following trends, but about following one simple rule: “Almost every piece you purchase should have the ability to take on more than one role in your current or future home.” Their multi-functional design philosophy is aligned with my own and perhaps that’s why I adore this book so much. Take a peek at some of the beautiful images, valuable advice and stunning illustrations…
