Serena & Lily Beach Market

Have you heard? Serena & Lily recently opened a traditional brick and mortar flagship store in the Hamptons! Although I haven’t seen it in person (dying to though!), the 3,200 square foot open floor-plan store with white crisp walls is the perfect backdrop for the brand’s fresh California style. Serena & Lily’s signature bedding, custom upholstery, statement artwork and outdoor collection are just some of the many items on the floor. It appears as if you are walking through a photo-shoots for an upcoming S&L catalog.

The store features some unique items like these hand-painted surfboards. Love!

A BIG congratulations to Serena and Lily and the entire S&L team!

Peninsula Volunteers Decorator Show House :: Mother-in-Law Suite

Interior Designer, Christine Sheldon was inspired by the beautiful views of the estate when designing the Mother-in-Law Suite for the Peninsula Volunteers Decorator Show House. For the room which receives wonderful natural light from windows positioned on the north, south and east walls, Sheldon selects a restful color palette in shades of gray and adds an energetic coral for accents. The vibrant accent is most evident in the velvet upholstered headboard, but is also repeated in the embroidered drapery and artwork throughout the space.

An elegant armchair covered in gray mohair fabric created the perfect place to curl up and read a book.

Providing guests with a comfortable place to work or write, Sheldon places a desk finished in a smoky blue shagreen is paired with a chic lucite chair in the room’s corner. It topped with beautiful accessories including  fresh flowers, horn covered box and a crisp white table lamp.

It is a delightful retreat. Wouldn’t you agree?

And in case you missed it, here’s a tour of the Show House’s Guest Bedroom and Card Room.

Happy Monday,

San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2013 :: The Maker’s Mark Retreat

Kelly Hohla, Design Principal at Jeffers Design Group, designed “The Maker’s Mark Retreat” for this year’s San Francisco Decorator Showcase. An homage to the urban artisan, the light filled corner room retreat is on the 2nd floor. It’s an elegant space that could be used as a home office during the day and then a cozy place to unwind in the evening by the fireplace with a cocktail.

Hohla selects a soothing dusky grey-blue palette which is articulated by the stunning custom hair-on-hide wallcovering by Kyle Bunting. It provides such wonderful texture, pattern and movement in the space.

An earthy  hand-crafted walnut “Crosswinds” credenza by New York artist Michael Coffey, is placed just behind the desk and topped with a pair of gorgeous brass lamps by Milan-based Roberto Giulio Rida. A large-scale abstract oil painting (artist unknown to me) hangs just above the credenza.

The beautiful chandelier with exposed bulbs by Apparatus is one of my favorite pieces in the space. It caught my eye instantly.
