Beautiful Laundry Room by Kriste Michelini Interiors

Based here in the San Francisco Bay Area, Kriste Michelini Interiors is know for creating timeless, classic, yet freshly modern spaces. You may recall her chic Writer’s Retreat designed for the San Francisco Decorator Showcase this year. If you loved it as much as I did, you will absolutely swoon when seeing her latest project. It’s a fresh and airy multipurpose laundry room designed for a family with two young boys. I know, I know. It’s our dream room isn’t it?! I love every inch.

I loved creating this multipurpose laundry room that could serve many functions – a mudroom, gift wrapping center and of course laundry central. My favorite items include a rugged outdoor tile that can stand up to tons of traffic, the vibrant wallpaper at the desk for a pop of color and lastly the gorgeous hanging pendant. It actually makes me want to do laundry! – Kriste Michelini

Organizing with Labels

I’ve been on a bit of an organizing kick lately and it was all spurred on by a lovely basket of goodies that the folks at Martha Stewart Home Office with Avery sent me. The assortment of beautiful labels jumped out and soon I was labeling everything! Here are a few images of my favorite labels and how I used them in my own home…

The scalloped chalkboard labels are fabulous and the fact that they are reusable is the best! Just write, erase, and write again!

Our garage recently got a little makeover, so the durable labels for all the bins came in very handy. I printed them out using an easy to use template at Avery.

This freezer and dishwasher safe label is perfect for leftovers.

The Martha Stewart Home Office with Avery offers a variety of festive mailing labels for the holiday, but this one with gold detail went with the Christmas card I already selected!

And how cute is the round, reusable chalkboard label? I’m using it here as a gift tag. Love it!

San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2013 :: Dressing Room by Shelley & Co.

Now that you’ve seen a Sneak Peek at the 2013 San Francisco Decorator Showcase, I know you want to see more! Today we will be taking a tour of a small, but highly functional coveted space; the walk-in closet.

The Dressing Room, just off the teen girl’s bedroom was designed by Shelley Cahan of Shelley & Company Interior Design. It’s très chic! And believe me, no detail was overlooked!

The luxurious custom closets by SOZO Studio are upholstered in a gray herringbone fabric. The soft touch is really a juxtaposition to the masculine pattern. It’s a lovely touch. The white upholstered chair designed by Ironies is layered with colorful ikat and needlepoint pillows and a burnt orange throw.

The black and white geometric wallpaper (Kravet) is paired a crisp white Roman shade with a timeless Greek key trim.

A sweet ceramic pug sits atop a stack of book on a stunning petrified wood pedestal side table.

The large tassel light pendant by Arteriors as just another touch of glamour in the space.

Don’t you just love this intimate, glamorous dressing room? I know I want one 🙂

Interior Designer, Angie Hranowsky’s Home + Weekend Reads

I’ve long been a fan of Charleston, South Carolina-based interior designer, Angie Hranowky. The former graphic designer mixes pattern and color effortlessly. I especially like Angie’s style because it feels so personal, inviting and organic. When I heard that her new pad (a charming historic 1850’s home) was being featured in the latest Lonny Magazine, I just knew I’d love it. And indeed I did. Angie’s renting the home which has it’s challenges for anyone (including designers), yet she pulls it off amazingly. As you will see the window treatment, wall paint and lighting fixtures she selected make a huge impact in the space. In the article, Angie gives great tips on making a rental your own.
