Holiday Tradition :: Frosted Sugar Cookies

My grandmother always baked us cookies for the Christmas. It was a tradition we looked forward to year after year. Her frosted sugar cookies were the best of all.

Pink Holiday Sugar Cookies
Today, although not the baker my grandmother was, I enjoy baking and decorating sugar cookies with my daughters. This year we used Style at Home’s frosted ornament recipe. Using pink, green and white frosting and colorful sprinkles we decorated stars, trees and gingerbread men. Each delightful and unique. My girls were thrilled with their masterpieces and enjoyed eating them the most. I loved seeing the smiles on their faces and knew my grandmother would be proud that we were continuing the family tradition.

Along Came A Spider: Halloween Decorating Ideas

My Halloween decorating is going to be a little more focused this year. In fact, I may have to use a microscope to see some of the little creepy, crawly friends that will be on display. I’m talking about spiders and lots of them.

I’ve searched the internet, blogs and Pinterest for some of my favorite spider Halloween decorating ideas. Here’s a sampling of what I found…

Color Trend: Pink Ombre

You may be getting tired of the ombre color trend, but I can’t help but love pink ombre. The gradual change in the hue from the palest pink to dark coral is romantic, feminine and perfect for the summer months. Here are some faves I spotted out there in the blogsphere or on Pinterest…

Celebrating Spring

I’m so ready for winter to be over and spring to begin. Blooming plants, warmer weather and Easter are all things I look forward to celebrating.

My in-laws live across the country and we don’t get to see them often enough. So, when Red Envelope offered me the chance to purchase one of their fabulous (and yummy) gifts for spring, I knew just who to send it to. Shhh… don’t tell, but I ordered them the Cherry Moon Farms Favorites that includes a fun mix organic fruit, nuts and jelly beans (shown in the lower left corner).
How are you celebrating spring?
