Friday Finds :: Holiday Wreaths

Happy Friday! How was your first week of December? Mine was productive. I’ve stored away all of the Thanksgiving and fall decor and have started pulling out the Christmas lights, trim and ornaments. One area that I’d like to refresh with a festive wreath is our newly painted front door. It’s black with brass hardware like the one featured above. So I’ve been on the hunt for holiday wreaths and although didn’t find the beautiful one that hangs on this door, I did find a variety of styles that may work.

Fall Front Door Ideas Perfect for Halloween Too

Football, foliage starting to turn and a switch in the weather these last few days that has me thinking about the fall months ahead. One way I welcome the cooler season is to decorate the front door in a festive way. Some like to decorate their entry for Halloween and then switch it out again for fall. To save time and energy this year however, I’m aiming at just decorating the door only once. I’m thinking of keeping it simple and have I’ve rounded up a few great examples of fall front door ideas perfect for Halloween too!

Healthy Home :: Easy Indoor Plants

As I mentioned in the Rue article, plants are an essential element of home decor. House plants bring the outside in, add a splash of color and texture, but most importantly create healthy homes. These all natural air purifiers not only give off oxygen, but some varieties are known to remove harmful chemicals such as ammonia, benzene, formaldehyde, and xylene. In addition, indoor plants can even decrease stress while boosting mood, memory, concentration. A win, win, win right? But, sometimes selecting the right plant can be overwhelming so here are some simple tips to keep in mind:

The Buzz :: SF Design Events

There are a couple exciting home & design events taking place in the San Francisco Bay Area – The Sunset Celebration Weekend and WestEdge San Francisco.

First off: After 17 years, the final Sunset Celebration Weekend will be held on Sunset Magazine’s iconic Menlo Park campus on June 6th & 7th (the magazine will be moving to new digs). Attracting thousands of readers, Sunsets beautiful seven-acre campus will be transformed into an interactive showcase for the region’s most exciting lifestyle inspiration and freshest flavors. Sunset Celebration Weekend // June 6-7, 2015

The inaugural WestEdge SF, co-presented with San Francisco Design Week at Pier 27 kicks off this Thursday and will run through Friday. Thursday evening’s opening night reception for the official San Francisco Design Week is expected to draw 3,000 design lovers. The curated modern design fair will feature 40+ exhibitors who all speak to high-quality and thoughtfully made design products. Check out a few that caught my eye!
