As I look back over the past year, it always amazes me how fast it goes by. 2014 was a busy, yet rewarding year both personally and professionally. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some wonderful clients, build a beautiful addition on our own home and celebrate this blog’s five year anniversary (wahoo!). Here’s a look at some of my favorite posts of 2014:
One trend I’ve been noticing this year is the alternative Christmas tree like the one above. Perfect for urban dwellers and folks that won’t be at home over the holidays. I’m not sure if I’ll be trading in my traditional (even if artificial) tree anytime soon, but I’ve come to love the creativity of these alternative holiday trees.
With Christmas just a few days away, you may still be looking for a festive cookie recipe, clever craft for the kids or ideas for trimming the tree. As you may know, Pinterest is one of my favorite go to spots to get inspired and my HOLIDAY DECORATING IDEAS board is one of my most active these days. From clever ways to wrap gifts to adorable holiday crafts, I’ve been pinning some fabulous holiday ideas that are guaranteed to inspire all. Take a look at my five of my most recent faves:

Last week I prepped our dinner table for the holidays, but this week I’m focusing on decorating the outside of our home. The first step is to create a festive holiday front door. Dressing up the your entry for the season is a great way to greet guests dropping by for celebrations, Christmas parties and holiday visits. With help from Target, I created a traditional Christmas look for our front door. I started by flanking the black front door with red poinsettias, pinecone & berry trees and birch lantern candle holders. Every door needs a holiday decor and I selected a classic boxwood wreath. I added a traditional black and white striped ribbon and sprigs of live red berries to complete the look. As a finishing touch I selected a fresh diamond door mat. Loving the result!
From beautiful wreaths to cheerful door mats, shimmering lights to festive lanterns, Target has what you’ll need to decorate your home inside and out this holiday season. And best yet, at prices that are so affordable it won’t break the bank!
Target wants you to get in the holiday spirit too. They are giving one luckySimplified Bee reader a $100 gift card. To enter please use the Rafflecopter widget below:
