Introducing … Shop Ten 25

Aaaaaa …  Summer. I love this time of year when days extend into the evening. The transition of seasons to warmer weather always puts me in a mood to entertain and spruce up the home. As I consider the options, I’m so happy to have Shop Ten 25 – a go to spot online for chic home decor. I’m also happy to announce they are a new sponsor of Simplified Bee (thrilled)!

With a huge array of two of items (including some of my faves … lighting, artwork & rugs!), Shop Ten 25 makes decorating easy allowing you to shop by the look, designer or color. With hundreds of items to choose from it was hard to narrow down, but here are some faves that stood out …

Weekend Reading :: Shelter Magazine Recommendations

Ah, the weekend. Perhaps you have something fun planned with family and friends, but hopefully you get some downtime to simply relax and recharge. For me, I enjoy reading shelter magazines (big surprise I’m sure!).  Here’s what I’ll be reading this weekend…

Matchbook Magazine - June Issue

Matchbook Magazine’s June issue (digital format) features a not to be missed house tour of design greats (and personal faves), John Robshaw and iomoi’s husband & wife team, Matthew Grenby and Irene Chen.

Can you tell which home is which? They are so different, but I love both styles!

Another online shelter magazine I’ll be reading is this month’s Rue. The issue is focusing on wedding and entertaining, so lots of inspiration for brides. It also features the charming apartment of recent interior design college graduate and my former intern, Michaela Noelle. It’s look into the urban LA studio she shares with a fellow design student. I love how they pulled off so much in such a tiny space. It’s a  fun, eclectic mix of styles.  So proud of Michaela!!!

And in case you missed it, you may want to check out the home tour of designer, Kelly Wearstler in last month’s Lonny Magazine. It’s so Kelly. The space is all glamour, but the images with her boys make it feel like a real home.

What will you be reading this weekend?

Peninsula Volunteers Decorator Show House :: Chinoiserie Foyer

Interior Designer, Mary Linn Coldiron of Coldiron Interiors creates a stunning entry for the Peninsula Volunteers Decorator Show House in Woodside, California. The two-story foyer features beautiful quarter-saw wood paneling, a wall of French doors and a grand staircase. Under layers of paint and paper the original French wallpaper with Chinoiserie bamboo motif was discovered and restored. The wallpaper’s blue hue was repeated in the rug, accessories and wall leading to the second floor. Bamboo furnishings and blue and white Chinese pottery add to the room’s chic Chinoiserie style. In the room’s center, an elegant settee in tangerine velvet is paired with a resting dog statue and charming hoofed side tables.

Hopefully you get the opportunity (if in the San Francisco Bay Area) to tour this gorgeous Woodside estate. It’s only open one more week until May 24th, so don’t delay!

And in case you missed it, here’s a tour of the Show House’s Guest Bedroom , Mother-in-Law Suite and Card Room.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
