It can be chic, yet casual; rustic, yet refined. Rattan furniture is as popular as ever and a favorite of mine – my childhood room had a pair of rattan bookshelves that are still with me today. Timeless rattan furnishings add an unexpected accent to a room. I love to mix rattan pieces with traditional – it’s a great way to bring texture and pattern to space.

Friday Finds :: Threshold Summer Collection at Target

Spring has just sprung, but retails have us already preparing for summer. Typically I don’t like to jump ahead too much, but the new Threshold summer collection at Target is one that I had to share. It’s that good! I’m loving all the graphic patterns, shades of blue and use of rattan – this lounge chair, bart cart and basket are all on my list! Here’s a round-up of other faves from the collection.

Friday Finds :: New from McGuire Furniture

For over sixty years, McGuire Furniture has been synonymous with classic style, natural materials and quality craftsmanship. Their timeless furnishings hold their value and are cherished for generations.

Recently, McGuire released a new collection featuring two statement pieces by renowned designer Steven Volpe and 18 new designs from McGuire’s in-house designers. These introductions thoughtfully balance classic McGuire style with contemporary design sensibilities. My favorite aspect of the collection is the various materials incorporated including rattan, rawhide, weaving and blackened steel. The mix creates a soft yet contemporary feel that is as inviting as it is functional. Friday Finds :: Statement Rattan Chairs

Popular in tropical climates, rattan furniture has made its way into our urban, suburban and country homes. Whether used inside or out, rattan furnishings give spaces a breezy, laid-back feel. Most recently, I’ve spotted the durable, lightweight material used for chairs in a variety of styles. I’m sharing a few of my favorite statement rattan chairs today.

The rattan hanging chair is nostalgic for me too because we had one hanging in our home as a child. It was our inside swing.
