We are in the planning cycle of designing a new kitchen and great room for our 1940s home. If all goes well, we will start construction this spring.
With so many decisions to be made for the renovation, I turn to Pinterest – my favorite destination for endless inspiration and a fabulous place to organize all of my ideas.

Thank you Cristin for the sweet introduction. I am so excited about olive green as an upcoming color trend for 2015. Elle Decor recently did a feature on up & coming colors and I’m particularly excited about this one. Olive green is so lovely in interiors because it borders between being a neutral and a color, depending on how you use it. It can be bold or subtle, modern or traditional. It looks amazing paired with a multitude of colors include white, black, navy, orange, and turquoise. And of course it looks incredible paired with brass accents. Olive green just feels new again. As you can see, there is good reason to have olive green on your radar for design trends in the next year. You can read about another color design trend at Otomi Home today, Glossy Blue!
A kitchen doesn’t have to be massive to be functional and beautiful. This all white kitchen designed by Jute Home is a perfect example. With the custom cabinetry well planned out, the space has room to accommodate gourmet appliances and touches. Although not enough room for an island, a peninsula does the job of housing the under-mount sink and barstools for three.
Here you can get a better look at the chic marble chevron backsplash and all white countertops (most likely a quartz). Love the open shelving too. They help break up the space visually.
Drinking tea is a daily ritual for me, so I love this last image. 🙂
