Awe, fall. I love this time of year. In addition to pulling out cozy sweaters and boots, it’s pumpkin season. I seriously love pumpkin in just about everything – pies, lattes and bread top the list. However, the creamy pumpkin butter sandwich cookies (above) I spotted at BHG look amazingly yummy.

Halloween Ideas :: Pinterest Favorites

With October’s arrival all eyes point to Halloween. My kiddos are busy fine tuning their costumes and strategically planning neighborhood routes for the most treats. Meanwhile, I’m a little behind the eight ball in terms of planning the decor, so have turned to Pinterest (to no surprise I’m sure!) for inspiration. Holiday Tradition :: Frosted Sugar Cookies

My grandmother always baked us cookies for the Christmas. It was a tradition we looked forward to year after year. Her frosted sugar cookies were the best of all.

 

Pink Holiday Sugar Cookies
Today, although not the baker my grandmother was, I enjoy baking and decorating sugar cookies with my daughters. This year we used Style at Home’s frosted ornament recipe. Using pink, green and white frosting and colorful sprinkles we decorated stars, trees and gingerbread men. Each delightful and unique. My girls were thrilled with their masterpieces and enjoyed eating them the most. I loved seeing the smiles on their faces and knew my grandmother would be proud that we were continuing the family tradition.
