I know you been spotting them on instagram and pinterest too… large tassel blankets thrown over the foot of a bed. The layered look like in this room designed by Amber Interiors is a great way to add color, pattern or texture to a bedroom. And let’s not forget how cozy an extra blanket during the winter months ahead.

advent calendar 2015 // via @simplifiedbeeHappy December! The first day of the month is always exciting for me, but I’m especially loving this first day of December. It marks the beginning of advent. A count down to Christmas Day. Advent calendars have been a family tradition that I’ve passed down to my own family. This year we even have two advent calendars – one that hangs on the wall that doesn’t have any treats and another my girls talked me into getting at Starbucks  seen above (I’m such a sucker!). Here are some other fun advent calendars to buy or make!

Friday Finds :: Simple Valentine Crafts

To get you in the mood for cupid’s holiday, I’ve rounded-up a few inspiring diy, budget-friendly and simple Valentine’s Day crafts – perfect for decorating your home or give to loved ones as gifts!

Valentine’s Day Inspiration & XOXO Banner

Valentine's Day Hot Cocoa Bar

Love is in the air! With Valentine’s Day falling in the chilly month of February, why not warm the hearts of your loved ones with hot chocolate? Creating a festive hot cocoa bar with marshmallow toppings and treats is easy – both kids & adults will love too! I simply used my vintage bar cart, a tray and filled it with hot cocoa essentials. The heart mugs are my fave!

And who doesn’t remember this darling hot cocoa stand?

The hugs & kisses banner was homemade. Starting with red glitter paper purchased at Michaels, I simply cut out the Xs & Os (here’s where I found the template). Then I taped each cut out letter to pink and white baker’s twine. Super simple. Super cute!

xoxo,

cristin
