Pinterest Pin of the Week :: Serene Bedroom Design

With a soothing palette of blue, this detailed image of a bedroom was one of my favorite pins from last week. I just love the layers of pattern. Floral wallpaper, ikat throw pillows and curvy raffia headboard are all wonderful design elements, but it’s the birched wrapped lamp and shade with metallic silver detail that had me taking a second look. Don’t you love it too? I’m not sure who designed the room, so if you know please tell me so I can give proper credit.

I thought this serene bedroom design would be the perfect was to start off a very busy week ahead! Don’t you think?

Also, do you have a child headed off to college soon? You won’t want to miss all the dorm room tips and essentials I rounded up for Wayfair today!

Happy Monday,

Cristin

Peninsula Volunteers Decorator Show House :: Mother-in-Law Suite

Interior Designer, Christine Sheldon was inspired by the beautiful views of the estate when designing the Mother-in-Law Suite for the Peninsula Volunteers Decorator Show House. For the room which receives wonderful natural light from windows positioned on the north, south and east walls, Sheldon selects a restful color palette in shades of gray and adds an energetic coral for accents. The vibrant accent is most evident in the velvet upholstered headboard, but is also repeated in the embroidered drapery and artwork throughout the space.

Interior Designer Spotlight :: Jay Jeffers

Earlier this week, San Francisco-based interior designer Jay Jeffers was featured on Diane Dorrans Saeks’ enchanting blog, The Style Salonite. Jeffers and his talented staff at Jeffers Design Group are known for creating spaces that are luxurious, yet approachable. Intrigued by Diane’s article, I took a deeper look through the design teams’ massive, diverse and inspiring portfolio. It’s no question Jeffers deserves his recent listing on Elle Décors A List of the top sixty designers in America. I think you’ll agree too after from seeing a sampling of his work.

A headboard not only anchors the bed, it anchors the room. When choosing one, consider your surroundings. Do you want art to hang above your headboard? Then keep it low. With tall nightstands choose higher headboard. Be bold. Are you traditional? Tuft it. Prefer modern? Upholster it in soft smooth leather. – Jay Jeffers via The Style Salonite

In addition to creating fabulous interiors, Jeffers opened Cavalier last year (image below). The San Francisco home furnishings and accessories store showcases carefully curated new, vintage and bespoke pieces from around the world. In addition to the many luxe treasures to be found, it’s also the exclusive source for Jeffers’ debut collection of California‐made furniture.

Tailored Child’s Bedroom :: New Collection from Little House by Annette Tatum

Today Little House by Annette Tatum is releasing a new collection appropriately named, Tailored. The gorgeous line of baby and child bedding has classic style with bold, modern brushstrokes creating a timeless distinction that is never trendy and always beautiful. The collection’s captivating prints and kaleidoscope of colors are a great starting point in selecting a color palette for your child’s room. I’m also  loving The Tailored Collection because it can seamlessly weave into any style room.

And for a completely unique look in your child’s bedroom, Little House fabrics are also available by the yard! Love it!

Speaking of children’s rooms, I recently helped pull together some nursery design ideas for design blogger, Dina and her baby-boy-to-be. It will be her second child and so I reused a lot of her existing furnishings and decor items, but added some new pieces with fun pops of turquoise. See it here.
