Friday Find :: Delphine Mirrored Bar by Jonathan Adler

I’m loving that bar carts and cabinets are making a comeback! One in particular that has caught my attention is Jonanthan Adler’s Delphine Mirrored Bar. It’s clean lines are characteristic of the mid-century modern inspired designs Adler is known for, however this cabinet is not at all minimalist. The cabinet is covered in antique mirrored glass which perches one a shiny brass base. The exterior is finished off with gorgeous quatrefoil brass pulls. It’s all glam! In addition, the interior offers a surprise of bright turquoise that’s so fun. Leave it to Adler to add a fun pop of color!

San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2013 :: The Living Room

San Francisco based interior designer, Catherine Kwong designed an elegant, yet edgy living room for the 2013 San Francisco Decorator Showcase. While researching for a client, Kwong came across photos of Mick and Bianca Jagger in the 1970’s – they were young and wild. The iconic rock royalty couple inspired the living room’s design for the Showcase.

Staying with tradition, Kwong kept the elaborate gilded ceiling and crown molding. She painted the walls a crisp white to complement the clean modern lines of the furnishings.

However, it’s the hand-painted floor takes center stage. Created by Stancil Studios, the free-spirited pattern was inspired by the paintings of Cy Twombly. It’s quite the juxtaposition to the ornate ceiling, marble fireplace and traditional architecture.

A pair of vintage fringe light fixtures grace the floors and flanked the stately marble fireplace. They added a wonder soft, feminine touch.
The vintage lucite candle stick stood out because I recently saw a similar pair at an estate sale.
