Clean and Simple – White Kitchens

Los Angeles designers and brothers, Ryan and Joshua Brown of Brown Design created this stunning open kitchen, dining and great room. This gourmet kitchen has simple clean lines and wonderful natural light from the skylight and wall of windows. It also features two islands each with a row of white and beige upholstered barstools. Perfect space for entertaining!

Designers, Berkley Vallone and Caroline DeCesare designed this beautiful, old-fashion kitchen in a Las Vegas home. The Grohe pot filler will extend to reach all of the burners on the impressive Wolf range – the focal point in the room. The stainless-steel hood with accessory rails is by Viking. The kitchen’s island houses a stainless-steel Manor House sink by Franke and is paired with the Vinnata faucet in brushed nickel by Kohler. The simple countertops are in a wonderfully contrasting Indian Premium black granite. The black is again picked up in the cabinetry hardware and Roman shades. And that gorgeous wooden floor is made of seven-inch-wide walnut planks.

The beautiful marble tile backsplash in this creamy white kitchen caught my eye. The darling glass pendants are nicely positioned on either sided of the double sinks. It also appears there is a third sink with wooden prep area on the other side of the kitchen. That must come in handy on Thanksgiving!

I found this lovely simple white kitchen on DecorPad and discovered that is was designed by Washington DC’s Frank Babb Randolph – Thanks to Things That Inspire! The subway tile backsplash and marble countertops are beautifully paired. This kitchen like several others in this series has wonderful windows that provides lovely natural light.

Dandelion Wishes Bedroom

Recently I designed a mood board for a bedroom, inspired by items discovered on Fyndes. I called it, Dandelion Wishes Bedroom and the entire article can be found the store’s blog, Designfynder. I just can get enough of this diverse marketplace, see my earlier post – My fyndes wish list.

TGIF and best wishes!

Bedrooms in the Hue of Blue

This traditional bedroom in the Hamptons was designed by New York’s Steven Gambrel. The lovely tufted headboard with wood trim is my favorite element in the room.

Florida-based designer, Phoebe Howard created a lovely seaside bedroom retreat in this Johns Island home. Howard pulls several different shades of blue into the color scheme beautifully. The dark wood elements contrast nicely with the soft color palette.

This lovely bedroom was designed by Texas’ Jan Showers. “An element of glamour is always necessary in a room, whether it be silk, glass or books–what is more glamorous than being surrounded by books?” says Showers. Although there are no books in this image, the Claudette Bench from Showers’ furniture collection is glamorous!

This tranquil bedroom by James Michael Howard is my favorite in the series. Howard successfully mixes contemporary and traditional styles in this space. The lovely bed takes center stage under the gilded star-burst mirror. The pattern in the rug and quilt coordinate nicely. And the crystal chandelier adds a touch of glamour.

It’s another gorgeous room by interior designer, James Michael Howard. Howard is known for his lavish application of color, texture and pattern and this bedroom is a great example. The color scheme – dusty blue, tangerine and a splash of yellow – flows beautifully through the quilt, throw pillows and artwork above the bed.

Which “blue” bedroom is your favorite? Also, drop by Julia’s Hooked on Friday’s blog party for more home inspiration!

Home Office by Amanda Nisbet

I need to design a new home office and this one by Amanda Nisbet is gorgeous. I love the color scheme and fun modern elements. The Highbridge Desk by Ralph Lauren Home is stunning, but it lacks storage and I would be concerned about it getting too cluttered with all my lovely computer equipment. Soooo – I think I’ll keep on looking for more inspiration.
