New Stone Patterns by Formica

You won’t believe what Formica is up too! For over 100 years Formica, the inventor of high pressure laminate, has been designing innovative surfacing products for commercial and residential application. You might be surprised to see how Formica’s laminates have evolved to offer a large variety of realistic looks. Most recently at KBIS with #BlogTourVegas, I was introduced to the newly launched Formica® Laminate patterns with Premiumfx™finishes that address three major trends in the residential market ― soft sandstones, white marble and non-traditional materials such as wood, concrete and engineered stone.

 New Formica Laminate Patterns #kitchens

“Although granite continues to be popular, homeowners are expanding their material preferences to include new stone variations. Our latest laminate patterns are fresh, affordable and maintenance-free alternatives, making design trends accessible for all.” – Amy Gath, vice president of marketing at Formica.

The seven new laminates feature the softly polished Etchings™ Premiumfx™finish, which is etched and dappled with highlights from tiny fissures reminiscent of those found in real granite and stone. All Formica Laminate patterns are available with IdealEdge laminate edge profiles. Suitable for curved, clipped or 90-degree corner installations, IdealEdge decorative edge transcend the customary limitations laminate by eliminating flat and brown seams. The edging makes all the difference. This isn’t your grandmother’s Formica! Beautiful, don’t you think?

The One Sink Collection by Blanco

Earlier this week I discussed how homeowners are seeking gourmet touches throughout the kitchen. One fixture used on a daily basis and not to be overlooked is the kitchen sink. Kitchen sinks are essentially workstations and must meet a variety of needs. Finding a sink that allows you to customize your workstation based on your needs is hard to find… well, at least until now. BLANCO, German innovator of kitchen sinks and faucets and sponsor of #BlogTourVegas, recently launched the ONE Collection with three new stainless steel sinks and five innovative accessory kits that combine to form unique customized solutions for cooking, organizing and cleaning. The accessories are really what make this sink special and include a magnetic sink caddy for cleaning tools, a workstation to hold knives and utensils, an ash compound cutting board that fits to the sink and protective custom grids.

If you have a family and are worried about keeping knives out of reach, if you are a foodie and you want a cutting board that lets you clean, cut and save space, if you are living in a small metro space and you don’t have counterspace to both clean and prep – there’s a BLANCO ONE sink and accessories kit just for you. – Tim Maicher, Director of Marketing for BLANCO

I love the look, functionality and versatility of this sink – the perfect gourmet touch for kitchens big or small!

Design Crush :: Christine Dovey’s Home

Did you see Christine Dovey’s home featured last week on Style Me Pretty? Hello gorgeous. Christine, a stylist, mother of three and the voice behind the Bijou & Boheme, collaborated with interior designer, Meredith Heron (who I had the pleasure of hanging out with while in Vegas for BlogTour -love her!!!) on the project. The result is simply stunning. With a balanced mix of various period styles from mid-century modern to Art Deco, the home is all glam and all Christine.

You’ll see from some of my favorite images that Christine has embraced several current decor trends including the use of brass (hardware, lighting and furnishings), wallpaper (foyer, girl’s bedroom) and geometric patterns (textiles, rugs throughout). Love it!

Gourmet Kitchens Featuring Sub-Zero Wolf

Whether big or small, kitchens are the hub of the home. It’s where guests mingle, family meetings are held and meals are prepared and enjoyed. So it’s no wonder that kitchens yield some of the highest return on investment and are one of the first things home-buyers want to see. Kitchens with restaurant inspired, gourmet features most notably refrigeration and cooking appliances are in demand.

Today I’m taking a closer look at a brand synonymous with gourmet kitchens: Sub-Zero Wolf. Found in beautiful kitchens worldwide, Sub-Zero Wolf is a leader in premium refrigeration, wine storage and cooking equipment and is elevating the landscape of residential kitchens. Their New Generation series of products features more than 60 appliances – the largest product rollout in the company’s 70 history! For Sub-Zero this includes advanced preservation features and refrigeration products in five widths – from a slim 18 inches to a spacious 36 inches. Wolf’s New Generation cooking equipment features three exterior styles, electric and induction cooktops, microwaves and a built-in coffee system.  By allowing a variety of dimensions, styles and products,  Sub-Zero Wolf’s high-performance and flexible designs can be incorporated into kitchens of all sizes which may be a response to the “less house, more home” trend that’s transcending generations. Homeowners are seeking high-end, space-saving products that can be used in urban apartments, suburban homes and county cottages. Sub-Zero Wolf’s New Generation offering is a game changer and big news for consumers who have lived in smaller dwellings that didn’t have the option to use gourmet appliances.
