Clever Ideas for Wallpaper

Many homeowners shy away from incorporating wallpaper in their home because it can be a commitment and pricey. If you’ve been hesitate about using wallpaper for these reasons, I’ve rounded up a few clever ideas for wallpaper that don’t require quite the commitment and won’t break the bank.

Lining drawers with wallpaper is a fun way to add some whimsy to a desk, vanity or dresser. This is a great way to use up remnants like Jess Lively did with this project.

Wallpapering an angled ceiling is a great was to enhance your home’s architecture, while adding some fun color and pattern in a space. This darling girl’s bedroom above by Hosue of Jade is a terrific example.

Wallpapering the back wall of a closet is also a great way to incorporate wallpaper without a huge commitment. How sweet is this girl’s closet by The Sweetest Home Digs using Graham & Brown’s Isabelle Blue?

Another clever way to incorporate wallpaper is smaller doses is to wrap a lampshade or drum pendant. These DIY versions by Minted.com were created for a party. So sweet!

Color Crush :: Pale Pink

pale pink nursery // caitlin creer

Known to represent kindness and remind us of those sweet flamingos, the color pink comes in many shades. Although I love them all, lately  I’ve most drawn to the hue’s pale, pink side that is often featured in a baby girl’s nursery like the one by Caitlin Creer above. The fresh and cool shade of pink is also popping up in other areas of the home as a primary or accent color. Pale pink takes on a modern, sophistication when paired with a darker hues like black, navy and green.

My Favorite Posts 2015

2015. It’s almost history and boy was it a year of change (at least for me). The biggest of course was my family moving from the bustle of the San Francisco Peninsula to the slower paced Sierra Nevada high dessert. I’ll be honest, it took me a few months to adjust (missing our California friends the most), but I love our new lifestyle. I’m also enjoying renovating our 1940s home (no small task – so lets see how I feel about it next year!). I’ve already tackled the foyer, thanks to a nudge from the One Room Challenge and will be sure to share other projects we are undertaking in the upcoming months.

Wishing you a very happy, healthy 2016!

3 Girls Bedrooms by Designer Nicole Hollis

disclosure: This post contains some affiliate links, which means Simplified Bee receives commission if you make a purchase using these links.

In just five short months from first meeting to installation, San Francisco-based interior designer, Nicole Hollis created the cutest bedrooms for three very lucky sisters. I first spotted the bright, whimsical designs on Instagram and had to take a closer look at the feature in Lonny.

Each room is distinctly different, yet all are full of personality, color (a dose of girly hot pink spotted throughout) and whimsical wallcoverings. Built-in desks, bookcases and smart storage help keep each space stylishly organized. Love it all! Take a peek for yourself.
