Celebrating Spring

I’m so ready for winter to be over and spring to begin. Blooming plants, warmer weather and Easter are all things I look forward to celebrating.

My in-laws live across the country and we don’t get to see them often enough. So, when Red Envelope offered me the chance to purchase one of their fabulous (and yummy) gifts for spring, I knew just who to send it to. Shhh… don’t tell, but I ordered them the Cherry Moon Farms Favorites that includes a fun mix organic fruit, nuts and jelly beans (shown in the lower left corner).
How are you celebrating spring?

Elfed at Christmas Printout and Hot Cocoa Recipe

Starting in December, my kids enjoy “elfing” our neighbors and friends. It works like this: Someone starts by secretly dropping treats with instructions at two houses. Don’t get caught!  Then those two families are asked to continue the fun by elfing two more houses. Once elfed you are supposed to post the image of an elf near the front door so they don’t get elfed again. We think it’s a fun way to pass along some Christmas cheer!

This year we decided to created baskets with hot cocoa jars, candy canes and other goodies.

In each basket, I included a recipe for hot cocoa to go along with the premade mix in the jar.  Above is the revised version of a recipe for creamy hot cocoa I found on allrecipes.com.

Here are the “elfed” printouts I used this year. So cute, don’t you think? I found the downloads for free at Anders Ruff via Pinterest.

Have you been elfed?

Gift Ideas for Kids: Mad for Muppets

The release of Disney’s new movie, The Muppets has me reminiscing about my childhood. Today, over at Project Nursery I’m talking about one of my favorite Christmas gifts. You may have guessed that it had something to do with those fuzzy puppets.

With the launch of the movie, Muppet toys, games and movies are hotter than ever. I think my kids would enjoy The Muppets version of Monopoly.

I am planning on taking my own kids to the new Muppet Movie and am curious to see what they think. Will they love the whole gang as much as I did do? Do you?
