bookcase_behind_sofa
Have you ever struggled with how to hide the back of a boring sofa? Today I am sharing some ideas on how to maximize the real estate behind your sofa at Wayfair’s blog, My Way Home.

Also, tomorrow I am to High Point Market in North Carolina next week where I will be soaking in all the new furniture collections being released. It will be my first time making it to High Point and am super excited. My trip is sponsored by Home Meridian and their brands, Pulaski, SLF and Creations Baby. Home Meridian ranks among the top five case goods suppliers to US retailers, so there will be lots to see and report. If you’d like to following my journey, I will be tweeting and pinning pictures along the way.

Friday Find: Acrylic Furniture by Plexi-Craft

Once popular in the 60s and 70s, clear acrylic furniture has made a huge resurgence over the past decade and I love it. A modern touch without being visually heavy, acrylic pieces work beautifully mixed with traditional, contemporary or transitional styles. One great resource for lucite and acrylic furnishings is Plexi-Craft.
Plexi-Craft is unique among custom acrylic furniture manufacturers, having been located in New York City since its founding in the 1960s. In fact, many of the “mid-century” acrylic pieces you might see at vintage furniture shops were made by Plexi-Craft. Today,Plexi-Craft specializes in custom crafted items based on their clients’ own designs or modifications in current pieces in their impressive portfolio. Here are a few of my favorites in their collection:

The elegant, timeless George II Chair is one my list. The tufted or solid cushion softens the overall look and is available in COM {customers own material}, so you can get a custom look and let your creativity run wild – from chintz to faux leopard to lemon vinyl.

With tapered clear acrylic legs and glass insert top, the Serena Cocktail Table is a show stopper! I love it’s beautiful clean lines and proportions. Perfect for a living room, but can also be custom made as a dining table!

Plexi-Craft’s TV Table also caught my eye – such a great alternative to traditional TV stands. I love that it on casters and can be easily moved about. It also has options to add more shelves based on your needs. Love this!

Happy Decorating and Happy Friday!

Joss & Main – Best of Bloggers’ Sale

Last year I had the pleasure of curating a sale for Joss & Main where I hand-selected some beautiful Indochine-inspired pieces. If you missed it or an item sold out, you are in luck! This weekend – Sunday, March 18th at 9pm EST to be exact – the most popular items from the sale will be up for grabs again.

Colors of Spring

Our backyard hens lay the most beautiful eggs. In natural shades of blue-green and creamy-white, the eggs give me a little spring fever as I look forward to Easter and the gentle colors of spring.
