The San Francisco Fall Antiques Show 2012

The highly anticipated San Francisco Fall Antiques Show will run October 25-28 at Fort Mason. (I’ll be attending this year… can’t wait!)  The show features approximately seventy dealers from across the United States and Europe, offering for sale an extraordinary range of fine and decorative arts representing all styles and periods including American, English, Continental and Asian furniture, silver, ceramics, glass, jewelry, rugs, textiles, paintings, prints and photographs.

San Francisco Fall Antiques Show 2012

The theme of this year’s show, Sea Worthy, is inspired by the iconic Americas Cup, which will be hosted in San Francisco in October 2013. The shows six-part lecture series, Romance of the Sea, will feature decorative and fine arts relating to the ocean, boating and travel.  The lecture series will explore a range of treasures with renowned experts in their fields, including:

In celebration of each of their first monographs – Contemporary Classical: The Architecture of Andrew Skurman (Princeton Architectural Press, 2012) and Ann Getty: Interior Style (written by Diane Dorrans Saeks, Rizzoli, 2012) – acclaimed architect Andrew Skurman and influential interior designer Ann Getty will share images and ideas from their iconic work in the Bay Area and beyond. Sneak Peek: West Elm Holiday 2012

West_Elm_Holiday_Decor_2012

West Elm is sharing a sneak peek at their holiday look books for decor, entertaining and trim. This holiday season is all about metallics, patched fabrics, reclaimed wood, paper flowers, animals, cool tones and vibrant colors. West Elm has also teamed up with some fabulous designers. I’m most excited about the collaborations with Sarah Campbell (colorful pillows, trays and paper  flowers), Laura Zindel (autumnal plates and serving pieces) and Allegra Hicks (dinnerware, bedding, pillows and accessories).

Chic & Glam Furnishings from Ikea

Ikea is not known for glam furnishings, but you might change your mind after seeing some of their new products.

Ikea Mirrored Chest of Drawers

First Ikea added a mirrored finish to the classic MALM chest. It’s chic here in a dressing room, but would also be a great bedside table. With a price-tag of $299, it’s affordable too.
