Happy Friday! Holy cow, did this last week seem to fly by or what?! I’ve been busy decking the halls, wrapping gifts and checking off the gift lists for loved ones. Happy Friday! How was your first week of December? Mine was productive. I’ve stored away all of the Thanksgiving and fall decor and have started pulling out the Christmas lights, trim and ornaments. One area that I’d like to refresh with a festive wreath is our newly painted front door. It’s black with brass hardware like the one featured above. So I’ve been on the hunt for holiday wreaths and although didn’t find the beautiful one that hangs on this door, I did find a variety of styles that may work.

Wow what a week! The One Room Challenge big reveal was definitely a highlight and I am touched by all the nice comments and support. Thank you so much!
However, the week was not without other challenges. You may know from my Instagram feed that we had a big snow storm here in the Sierra Nevada mountains. In addition to losing some trees (even some blocking the driveway, yikes!), we lost power for almost two days. It had me pulling out the emergency kit, flashlights and other essentials. It made me think more about emergency preparedness and what items I found most helpful during the outage. I’m sharing a few here today:

Skincare. It’s not typically a topic I cover here on Simplified Bee a lot. I only use natural and paraben-free skincare and cosmetic products. Why paraben-free you may ask? Plain and simple, parabens mimic estrogen in the body. These estrogen distributors have been linked to breast cancer and other reproductive issues for women. As a breast cancer survivor, I do all I can to avoid them.
