Kelley Moore’s San Francisco Flat

I’ve mentioned before that through blogging I have met the most amazing people. One such person is Kelley Moore. Kelly’s a designer, party planner and lifestyle guru. Her amazing career has had her on the go. You may have seen her on Rachel Ray, The Nate Berkus Show or even her own show, Moore to Life in Seattle!  Recently she moved to San Francisco to be the Home and Lifestyle Anchor at Joyus. Do you remember when I participated in Joyus’ designer challenge? Through the experience Kelley and I became friends. I’m telling you, she is an amazing person. Love her!

I was thrilled to see Kelley’s new San Francisco flat that she designed so beautifully featured in Rue Magazine’s October issue. It’s a home that inviting and has a wonderfully curated feel. Kelley also brilliantly blends pattern, textures and bold color (even red). Here’s a peek at the stunning interior:

Kelley shared some of her dinner party and entertaining tip & tricks with Rue too. She encourages us to mix it up – which I love!

Holiday Tradition :: Frosted Sugar Cookies

My grandmother always baked us cookies for the Christmas. It was a tradition we looked forward to year after year. Her frosted sugar cookies were the best of all.

Pink Holiday Sugar Cookies
Today, although not the baker my grandmother was, I enjoy baking and decorating sugar cookies with my daughters. This year we used Style at Home’s frosted ornament recipe. Using pink, green and white frosting and colorful sprinkles we decorated stars, trees and gingerbread men. Each delightful and unique. My girls were thrilled with their masterpieces and enjoyed eating them the most. I loved seeing the smiles on their faces and knew my grandmother would be proud that we were continuing the family tradition.

‘Tis the Season…

gorgeous diy holiday wreath

Ahh, it’s here. The holiday season has begun and I looove it. To get you in the spirit too, Rue Magazine released their inspirational holiday issue and I wanted to share some of my favorite images. The gorgeous wreath above was created by a San Francisco interior designer and friend, Scot Meacham Wood. It’s a beauty. He shows us how he made it step-by-step in Rue.

I also thought this holiday cider cup (above) was so clever and would make a fun gift. Who doesn’t enjoy a hot cup of cider on a long winter’s day? Again, drop by Rue to see how to do this yourself!

Serena & Lily holiday gift guide - Simplified Bee

I’m also thrilled to be included in Serena & Lily’s Holiday Picks from the Pros! They had me pick some of my faves from their holiday collection which was super fun, but frankly hard to narrow down! They also had my reminiscing about my best gift ever… my powder blue ten-speed bike when I was ten. It was a complete surprise and brought me so much joy. I also remember counting down the days until spring when the snow melted away and  I could ride it!
