Do you remember my Michaela who interned for me a few years ago? Her grandmother always told her to dream big and dream she did. Last year, Michaela and her friend Ashley launched The Bloom Workshop. And not surprisingly it’s been a huge success! The hands-on workshop was designed for creative women who are eager to learn about blogging, social media, photography, interior design and styling. Our goal is to share our knowledge on how each of these topics work together to help take blogs or businesses to the next level. Bloom’s mission is to help fuel women’s creative passions, establish authentic community, and help each attendee feel confident in their small business or blog. With special sessions on the specifics of blogging, social media best practices, design, styling and photography, a styled photo shoot to practice the skills guests just learned, and a Q&A session with a panel of experts this is a great opportunity for all eager to learn, network and hone creative skills.

Friday Finds :: Simple Valentine Crafts
The other day I was in the drug store and was quickly reminded by the sea of red and pink candy that Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Doing my best to avoid sweets, I typically turn to simple Valentine crafts for the holiday like this XOXO banner I created a couple years ago.
To get you in the mood for cupid’s holiday, I’ve rounded-up a few inspiring diy, budget-friendly and simple Valentine’s Day crafts – perfect for decorating your home or give to loved ones as gifts!
Add a little sparkle to a simple glass vase by adding gold glitter around the rim. Pop your favorite pink and red flowers and voila, a stunning Valentine’s Day bouquet! Photo by Michelle Lange via Style Me Pretty.
Love these potted succulents with pink rocks via the Glitter Guide. The perfect Valentine’s gift for teachers, friends and co-workers!
Not exactly a craft, but love this simple, yet stunning centerpiece found Pinterest. Carnations in shades of pink are individually set in mirrored vases and placed in ombre pattern down the center of the table.
Love these colorful origami hearts by you are my fave. Fun craft for the kiddos!
How cute is this fringed heart? Get the how to at Minted.

My Favorite Posts of 2014
As I look back over the past year, it always amazes me how fast it goes by. 2014 was a busy, yet rewarding year both personally and professionally. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some wonderful clients, build a beautiful addition on our own home and celebrate this blog’s five year anniversary (wahoo!). Here’s a look at some of my favorite posts of 2014:
Design Reveal: Blue and Orange Boy’s Bedroom
San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2014: Boy’s Bedroom
White & Gold Holiday Table Setting
Interview: Claud Gurney of de Gourney
Design Reveal: Marble Bathroom
In case you missed it, here are my favorite posts from 2013 too 🙂
Thank you so much for reading the bee. See you in 2015!
Happy New Year,

Merry Christmas
One trend I’ve been noticing this year is the alternative Christmas tree like the one above. Perfect for urban dwellers and folks that won’t be at home over the holidays. I’m not sure if I’ll be trading in my traditional (even if artificial) tree anytime soon, but I’ve come to love the creativity of these alternative holiday trees.
Wishing you and yours a very merry Christmas!
