Burrr! The temperature is certainly starting to drop here in the Sierras and we even got some snow over the weekend. So, I’ve swapping out all my summer tees for sweaters, mittens and coats. Because bundling up is a necessity around here, I’m always on the look out for stylish layers. I’m loving this winter white parka by j.crew (above) and might put it on my wish list for Christmas. However, I spotted several other items that caught my too and created a Holiday Gift Guide for Her from my favorites.

With Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away, I thought I’d kick-off my 2016 Holiday Gift Guide with hostess gifts. When attending a Thanksgiving dinner or upcoming holiday soiree, it’s always a good thing to bring a little something for the hostess. When considering hostess gifts, it’s always best to give a gift that you would like to receive yourself. If you love it, odds are they will too! Here are some of my favorite hostess gift ideas for the 2016 holidays. From festive candles to plaid kitchen dish towels, there is something here for everyone!

Thanksgiving Decor Inspiration

kitchen range + tile backsplash // design by Cristin Priest @simplifiedbee

Our kitchen – great room renovation has taken five long months, but we are thrilled with the overall result. There are so many aspects I love, but am particularly smitten with the Sub-zero Wolf range, Fireclay tile backsplash and Neolith countertops (sneak peek above). As you can image, we are very excited to be hosting Thanksgiving in our new kitchen! So recently I’ve been combing blogs and Pinterest for Thanksgiving decor inspiration and recipes. Here are some of my favorites…

Halloween Front Door Decor

crows & pumpkins // Halloween porch decor

Typically I start decorating our house for Halloween the first week of October. Unfortunately, our kitchen remodel is taking a little longer to wrap up and all inside holiday decor will have to be on hold. However, I am planning on moving ahead to make the front door frightfully fun. I’m loving how the enchanting front porch above was decorated using simply bare tree branches, pumpkins and a flock of black crows. I’m also adore the simplicity of the Halloween front door (below) that is decorated using a swarm of cut-out bats and a similar mix of branches and pumpkins. Scary chic!

Need to make your entry boo-ful too? Here are also some more Halloween front door decor I’ve rounded-up:
