Design Crush :: Bradshaw Orrell Interiors

The clean, light and airy home designed by Bradshaw Orrell Interiors stopped me in my tracks. Featured in Traditional Home, the Greensboro, North Carolina house was recently transformed for a newlywed couple relocating to the south from Manhattan. Orrell describes how the couple’s exquisite artwork, heirloom antiques and natural light played a crucial role in the overall design. In addition, Orrell, a former furniture designer for Niermann Weeks and Baker, incorporated his own sleek custom-designed furniture. The result is fresh, elegant and has a new traditional flare. Simply stunning as you will see.

How cute is the bedroom from their baby girl, Elle. The soft lavender chinoiserie wallpaper is a personal fave!

chic home office // Domino Mag

My home office has moved to a new room in the house and needs to be updated (just need to find the time!). I’ve been searching for inspiration and I love this colorful, fresh and airy workspace I spotted in Domino Magazine. The bright artwork, colorful ikat chairs and crisp clean lines are what drew me in. If you like this style too, here’s some home office decor and similar items to help you recreate the look:

Global Chic + Kid Friendly Home Decor

Global chic and kid friendly home decor. That’s the result when you have mom of two little ones and Tea Collection‘s co-founder and chief creative officer, Emily Meyer decorate her own home recently featured in Lonny. I was fortunate to meet Emily back in 2002 while pregnant with my first child and Tea was just a few months old. I vividly recall swooning over her gorgeous Asian style pima cotton baby sweaters and her brilliant vision for creating a globally inspired children’s clothing. I know how hard she has worked over the years and am thrilled with her success.

It’s clear to see Emily’s clothing designer roots and deep passion for print, pattern and color in her use of wallpaper, textiles and accessories incorporated throughout her craftsman style home in Palo Alto. She’s not shy to mix period and ethnic styles either. It’s a super approachable, multi-layered and kid-friendly space – love every inch. Here’s a look at my favorite rooms.
