San Francisco Decorator Showcase :: The Garden Room

Happy Friday! It’s been quite the hectic week with the One Room Challenge Reveal. I’m so relieved that’s it is complete (sigh) and touched by all the positive feedback. Thank you so much!

San Francisco Decorator Showcase // The Garden Room // Heather Hilliard

To wind down the week on a relaxing note, I’d like to share another fabulous room from this year’s San Francisco Decorator Showcase. The Garden Room by interior designers Heather Hilliard and Fleur Keyes of Heather Hilliard Design is an airy and informal space perfect for entertaining. With a casual, chic California vibe, the room’s organic design blurs the boundary between indoor and outdoor living. Love this! The walls are covered in a whitewash lime wall finish set a perfect neutral backdrop. A gorgeous open flame wood-burning fireplace is flanked by antique mirrors and logs ready for cozy fire. I’m also loving the long natural-edge wood Chris Lehrecke dining table and John Himmel handwoven rope armchairs – elegant, yet casual. Bravo ladies!

Book Review :: Carrier & Company Positively Chic Interiors

Their interiors reflect a spectrum of styles from bohemian glamour to country charm. from modern luxe to elegantly traditional. Husband and wife design duo, Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller of Carrier & Company make it all look effortless too. It’s therefore no surprise that the couple’s work has caught industry and media attention as they were named to the Architectural Digest Top 100 in 2013 & 2014 and Elle Decor’s A-list for 2015. When asked if I’d like to review Carrier & Company’s new book, Positively Chic Interiors (The Vendome Press), I jumped at the chance. Released today and filled with over 200 inspiring images, readers are given an inside look into their process for creating charmingly personal, beautifully balanced and positively chic interiors. In the book’s introduction, Carrier & Company explains that they “are dedicated to creating the firm foundations of functional beauty that are necessary in order to live with ease, style, and comfort.” Their design approach resonates with me and I know this is a book I will reference and treasure for a long time. Here’s a look at a small sampling of the gorgeous images that fill the pages of this delightful book.

San Francisco Decorator Showcase :: Master Bedroom

Dark moss green. It’s a color that was popular in the 90s is making a comeback. The earthy shade of green covers the walls in the Master Bedroom designed by Will Wick of Wick Design for this year’s San Francisco Decorator Showcase. To balance the masculine walls, Wick adds soft feminine tones including the light cream drapery and pale pink bedside lamps. To achieve a curated feel, the space features a mixture of modern-styled furniture (much of which was custom designed by Wick himself) with antiques. In addition, Wick’s use of lighting, artwork and color is tremendous. I was smitten by the level of detail that went into this design. Bravo!

5 Favorites :: Walker Zanger Pinterest Board

Simplified Bee Pinterest Board for Walker Zanger

For the past week I’ve had the pleasure of working with Walker Zanger on creating the Pinterest board, Simplified Bee’s Inspirations. You will have to check it out. It’s loaded with beautiful images inspired by the gorgeous patterns, colors and textures found throughout the Walker Zanger’s exceptional stone and tile collections.

Walker Zanger // Luxe Stone & Tile Designs

From the sophisticated, yet simple Sterling Row to worldy, yet timeless Villa D’Oro, I was mesmerized by the vast and varied collections offered. Throughout the pinning process, I tried to pair a Walker Zanger stone or tile with a beautiful interior, vignette or quote. The process was so fun and had me dreaming up spaces throughout the home featuring these exquisite collections. Here are my favorites from the pinboard:

If you are lucky enough to be in Las Vegas this week for this year’s Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), you will have to drop by Walker Zanger’s booth (S7023 – South Hall in the Las Vegas Convention Center). In addition to previewing hundreds of new tile and stone products from their 2015 collections, you have the opportunity to meet the design team behind the soon-to-be released tile collaboration with Robert A. M. Stern Architects.

happy decorating,
