Holiday House Hamptons 2014 :: My Faves

Earlier this summer, Holiday House Hamptons at Watchcase in Sag Harbor opened its doors to the public. Showcasing eighteen talented interior designers, the prestigious design showhouse combines two of founder, Iris Dankner’s passions: interior design and fundraising for breast cancer research. This year Holiday House partnered with Hamptons Cottages and Gardens (HC&G) to deliver an inspiring design house which is actually a 19th century brick factory that’s now being converted into luxury condos. The grand industrial space set the stage for each designer to create a space themed around a holiday or special moment in their life. Here’s a look at some of my favorite spaces.

Holiday House NYC 2012 :: My Faves

In it’s fifth year, Holiday House  is a holiday-themed designer showhouse benefiting The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Twenty-seven top-tier interior designers were asked to decorate a room around any holiday theme (many non-traditional such as “everyday’s a holiday”). Over the course of several months, the designers transformed the masionary-like mansion at Two East 63rd Street on the Upper East Side of  New York City. From modern to traditional, each room has a look and feel of it’s own, yet all are so chic. I’ve pulled a few of my favorite images:

Helping Fund a Cure :: The Pink Jalk Project

Although it’s November 1st and marks the end of Breast Cancer Awareness month, however the fight for thousands of woman with breast cancer goes on. In addition just over 18,000 women and men in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer this month.  Doctors and researchers are getting closer to finding a cure and making strides on providing more individualized treatment plans to patients which help save lives.

I believe in pink

(Elissa Hudson’s Etsy Shop)

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy and all it’s sorrow, it’s hard to post about a fundraiser for breast cancer, but as a young breast cancer survivor (4+ years!), it’s a cause near and dear to my heart.

For the first time, The Pink Project spotlights a chair designed by a woman – the GJ Chair designed by Grete Jalk. Twenty leading interior designers, architects and design icons have been asked to customize the iconic GJ Chair in personal homage to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and their worldwide initiatives. There is only one more day to bid on these fabulous chairs… so don’t delay! Here are my faves…
