San Francisco Decorator Showcase :: Cheerful Girls Bedroom

Another room that caught my eye in this year’s San Francisco Decorator Showcase is the cheerful girl’s bedroom by Annie Lowengart of Ann Lowengart Interiors. “Smoll’s Room Redux” is a modern twist on the designer’s sister’s childhood bedroom. Lowengart takes a classic pink and orange color combination and adds a contemporary, chic twist using playful patterns and unexpected accent colors. However, the modern brass chandelier and colorful, geometric ceiling wallpaper (from the Flavor Paper) steals the show. I’m completely smitten with this bedroom as any little girl would be too!

With its cheerful palette and bespoke details, this inviting bedroom is perfect for the little girl who will one day live out her dreams as a strong, sophisticated woman. – Annie Lowengart, Interior Designer

San Francisco Decorator Showcase :: Teen Girls Bathroom

As I mentioned before, the 2015 San Francisco Decorator Showcase  featured lots and lots of beautiful wallcoverings. One space that stood out, was the “Lip Service” teen girl’s bathroom by designers Jennifer Wundrow and Heather Brock of Nest Design Co. The daring kiss-themed wallpaper by Voutsa in crimson, tangerine and blush covered much of the walls. The playful, modern pattern was paired with a classic marble herringbone floor. In addition, the bathroom features strong sculptural pieces including the freestanding cast-iron tub by Kohler and a gorgeous custom inlaid horn vanity. Touches of brass are found throughout the space such as the statement light fixtures, contemporary faucets and brass intaglio inlaid in the flooring and shower. Such wonderful details in the space!

Fresh + Chic Work Spaces

As my own home renovation goes into full swing, I’m finding it harder and harder to keep everything organized. I have to admit it drives me a little crazy to not have spot for everything, but I know it’s for a short period of time. I also think it’s healthy for me to have to let go a little. One small area I’m trying to keep organized is my work space. Although that’s been a struggle to keep neat too! So in the spirit of organized desks, I’m sharing a few fresh and chic work spaces captured by photographer, Hannah Blackmore.

How cute is this work space vignette with red lacquered desk, fluffy sheep skin rug and pink cane chair with gold dipped legs!?

It’s an eclectic mix of rich texture, pattern and color. It’s always laid-back and approachable. And I’m totally drawn to it. I’m talking about Boho chic style. The layered approach is the perfect direction for a teen girl.
