In just a couple weeks holiday parties will be in full swing (can you believe it?!) Whether it’s a family dinner, cocktails with friends or a large holiday party you mustn’t forget to bring a little something for the hostess. Struggling with what to give? Consider items that will resonate with your hostess. In the past I’ve given gifts I know the hostess will love including my favorite tea, cooking spices and dish towels with the hostess’ monogram. It’s always best to give a gift that you would like to receive yourself. If you love it, they should love it too! Here are a variety of hostess gift ideas for the 2014 holidays – you are bound to find one your hostess will love!holiday gift guide 2014 // hostess gift ideas // simplified bee #holiday #gifts

With the holidays just around the corner, your dining table will soon take center stage. DIY Easter Ideas :: Pinterest

With the Easter holiday just a few weeks away (did it sneak up on you too?), I thought it was time to share some of my favorite DIY Easter Ideas spotted on Pinterest.

Easter egg pinatas craft - DIY #Easter Ideas

How cute are these DIY mini egg pinatas from Oh Happy Day?! Filled with candy, confetti or small trinkets, they would be great party decor as well as the perfect party favor!

gilded Easter eggs - diy Easter ideas

Using  metal leaf and washi tape, miss renaissance created some of glitziest Easter eggs around. I’ve gotta try this.

Easter bunny topiary craft - diy Easter ideas

Welcome Easter guests with this sweet bunny topiary wreath for the front door. The House That Lars Built used crepe paper, but boxwood branches works too!

pineapple easter egg craft - diy easter ideas

Pineapples are trending in home decor right now, so I was drawn to these fun Easter eggs. With a few eggs, green craft paper and bright yellow paint, Studio DIY crafted up these beauties in no time.

easter bunny placecard holders - diy #easter ideas

These gilded bunny placecard holders are a festive way to set the table for Easter brunch.  The Sweetest Occasion simply took plastic bunny toys, wire and gold paint to create them.  Love!

Inspired? Me too.

Find these and many more Easter ideas on my Easter and Spring Pinterest board!

happy crafting,

cristin

New Year’s Woodland Chic Tabletop by Aerin

Perhaps its the fact that I grew up surrounded by pine trees in Lake Tahoe that draws me to this woodland chic table setting by Aerin Lauder (yep, the granddaughter of the legendary Estée Lauder). Quentessence shared a sneak peek of Aerin’s New Year’s luncheon tabletop that will be featured this January/February issue of Veranda and I loved it so much, I wanted to share with you too.
