Who says that light switches and electrical outlets can’t be stylish? I thought not until recently when I was introduced to adorne by legrand’s next-generation switches, dimmers and wall plates. It’s not surprise however, when I came to learn that the company has 100+ years of experience and innovation behind it. The residential adorne collection offers a variety of advanced control options – including ones you can tap, touch, wave at, push or toggle. They’ve also developed over 30 beautiful color/finish options for the adorne switches and wall plates, ranging from bright colors to cast metals to wood tones.
When asked if I would like to try out their products, I jumped at the chance to incorporate a few in our master bathroom and walk-in closet for the One Room Challenge. Here are a few of of my favorite adorne products selected and installed:
For the bathroom’s water closet, I selected the sleek and subtle touch switch. With the slightest of touch in the center circle, the light turns on and off. When off, a tiny light in the center lights up – perfect for nighttime. In a wallpapered space, I like to have the wall plates covered in the paper as well. To achieve a seamless look, I selected adorne’s one-gang custom wall plate and personalized it with the Woods & Pears wallpaper by Cole & Sons. The wall plate could also be customized by adding paint, fabric and even with photo inserts.
Okay, I think this is my very favorite of the adorne products. It’s a portable wall nightlight/flashlight all in one. Simply brilliant. We placed it on the side of our new vanity to light the bathroom at night. I love that and in case of a power outage, we have a spare flashlight. The wall plate used here was also the custom version where the plate template was painted the same color as the wall.
The pop-out outlet is genius too! To access the outlet, simply push on the box and out pops 3 outlets. Push is back in and the outlet disappears into the wall. I placed a pair of these beauties along the back wall of my make-up vanity. Love!
In the master walk-in closet, I selected a masculine and very handsome cast metal bronze wall plate that houses both an outlet and the sensa switch. The light switch senses movement and automatically turns lights on or off. It can also be turned on/off manually by touch.
If you are planning a remodel or simply want to update your light switches and outlets, I highly recommend the adorne by legrand collection. I’m hooked!
