Let’s talk wallcoverings. They are a critical part of setting the mood in any space. Walls are a great place to add color, pattern and texture. Glam them up or tone them down using paint (typically the least expensive route), wallpaper (more expensive, but great way to incorporate pattern) or fabric (typically the most expensive). Sophisticated, timeless and just plain adorable. The nursery created by Caitlin Flemming, interior designer and the voice behind the Sacramento Street blog is all that. Featured on Rue Daily last week, Caitlin shares the sweet room that welcomed her son, Jackson. The neutral room is grounded in beiges and whites (great starting points for either gender) and then layered with blue accents. It’s clearly a baby’s room, although sophisticated art, rich textiles and timeless furnishings make it a space that adults would love to hang out in as well. Bravo Caitlin!

What spawns the design for a nursery room? Often times it can be a fabric, paint color or even crib design. However, in some cases its the artwork. This is certainly the case for many of the nursery rooms that feature the beautiful photography of animals by Sharon Montrose. From forest to farm, Montrose has captured the most amazing images images of animals (many babies themselves) perfect for an infant’s new space and sells them directly at The Animal Print Shop. Here are a few of my favorite nursery room ideas found on their blog.

This adorable gender neutral, modern nursery was featured on The Handmade Home via Pinterest. The white walls, clean-lined crib (very affordable!) and whimsical wallpapered ceiling give the room it’s modern feel. Traditional element, such as the tufted glider chair (from Target!), woven rug and changing table balance the look. I love it, don’t you?
