crows & pumpkins // Halloween porch decor

Typically I start decorating our house for Halloween the first week of October. Unfortunately, our kitchen remodel is taking a little longer to wrap up and all inside holiday decor will have to be on hold. However, I am planning on moving ahead to make the front door frightfully fun. I’m loving how the enchanting front porch above was decorated using simply bare tree branches, pumpkins and a flock of black crows. I’m also adore the simplicity of the Halloween front door (below) that is decorated using a swarm of cut-out bats and a similar mix of branches and pumpkins. Scary chic!

They have been popping up in all sorts of interiors including dining rooms, kitchens and even nursery rooms (like this adorable one above). I’m referring to the woven lighting trend and I’m loving it. From rattan to rope, cane to basket – the organic material gives a textured, earthy touch to any space.

I’ve been sourcing a few woven pendants and chandeliers that could work in our family room / great room area. Because I’ve selected brass lighting fixtures for the kitchen and dining space, I wanted something different for the the family room area. I’ve been eyeing woven options for a while and narrowed down some of my favorites for you today.

8 Stylish Planners 2017

It’s that time of year! School is back in session, fall is in the air and 2017 is just around the corner (yikes!). It’s a time when moms and students everywhere are challenged to keep their new schedules, events and activities organized. Keeping a calendar is an essential part in helping manage your daily activities and prioritize your time. It’s also a great way to kick off a new school year and get 2017 off on the right foot. Also, keeping organized helps relieve stress. When kept up-to-date, a planner allows you to find information quickly, prioritize effectively and schedule appointments on the spot.

Even though I’ve started to schedule my appointments on my iphone calendar, I still like keeping an old school day planner. I actually enjoy the process writing down appointments, events and day-to-day tasks in a traditional daily planner. Because there are so many stylish designs in a variety of price points, it was tough to narrow down my favorites!
