Summer months bring with it some of the best yard, estate and tag sales of the year. I’ve found some of my favorite home décor items combing local sales. If you’re a tag sale treasure-seeker like me, you know that some items need a little cleaning to get back into shape.

Bon Ami (a brand I use and trust) uses only natural, non-toxic ingredients in their cleaning products and has provided us with some helpful cleaning tips:
Return Shine to a Foggy Glass Object: Add a few drops of Bon Ami Liquid Cleanser to the glass surface and wipe in concentric circles. Rinse with a little water and dry with a soft cloth.
Restore a Painted Wood Object: Wash off any grease or grime with some diluted Bon Ami Dish Soap and warm water with a cloth. Sometimes all you need to do is a quick spot treatment of a few areas. Make sure to dry thoroughly.
Polish Tarnished Silver: Add a few drops of water to a teaspoon of Bon Ami Powder Cleanser to make a paste. Scrub the paste on the tarnished silver with a small brush {i.e. recycled tooth brush}. Towel off the paste with a wet rag and dry.
*** Keep in mind, some tag sale items may be on their last legs and have delicate finishes. Before using any product (including Bon Ami), make sure to test it on an inconspicuous area.
